The Fairfax County Public Library's Virginia Room maintains a collection rich in regional history and genealogy, as well as local and state government information and legal resources. Staff collect the historical record of the people, associations, events and places of Fairfax County, Virginia. In addition to our local history resources, researchers can use our print holdings and online databases to research genealogy from all 50 states.
Other resources available for use are maps, an extensive photographic archive, manuscript collections, local newspapers, and rare books.
To protect the fragile and rare materials in the Virginia Room's collection, food and beverages (including bottled water) are not permitted.
Branch Services
Computer / Internet Access: 8 internet stations with Microsoft Office, plus wireless access is available throughout the library.
CPAN: Fairfax Circuit Court's Public Access Network is available at a designated CPAN station.
Microform Reader-Printer: Printing is available. New microform readers also allow saving data to your USB drive.
Memory Depot: Two stations are available to reserve.
